Competition cheer music?

My grand daughter is in competition cheer. She is on the Devilrays Allstar Mini team. They, fwiw, are a really good gym with multi national championships. They have been to two tournaments. We just got back from the Jamfest Nationals in Gatlinburg, TN.
According to whqt I have read this is the fastest growing sport in the USA... and from what I have seen firsthand it is highy competetive, our girls, the minis, practice three two hour sessions a week and lately have been doing an optional Saturday morning practice and a mandatory Sunday PM practice from 3 to 5... they REALLY pour themselves into it... however, they were late getting their music this time because (in spite of the name: Devilrays) it is a Christian gym and there was something in the music that the coaches objected to so it had to be sent back to whoever did it and fixed. It seems to be some mix of original and remix. I noticed some of the song "We can work it out" by the Beatles but sung by someone else, in the mini's music. It is of course dance music and it is played LOUD and has thumping bass.
I wish I could add an example and I think soon I will be able to add it.
I was wondering if anyone here does music for dance studios or competition cheering..?? Is it something you would be interested in? I am also thinking that once I get better with X1 that maybe I could make a mix and just give it to them to try out and maybe get some commercial work... who knows?
Do you have any idea how this sort of work is priced?

I recorded the minis and maybe the music isn't too bad. I used a Kodak Zi8. One in 720p and the other in 1080p but I still don't know how well it got the music. I will try andget a copy of the music they all use. The Devilrays Senior5 level team is really top notch, when they get to the nationals at the end of the season they are usually on ESPN.. and they win more often than not... (proud Papa here even though mine is stil a mini, 8yo). She started in June and has gotten better already than some other her age who have been doing it for 4 years. 3 mos ago sh couldn't do a cartwheel, now she does them and walkovers etc all the time.... sorry but like I said... proud Papa mode right now.

But back to the question.. does anyone do this kind of production? I might could get them to give a listen to your work if you're interested... but in the future when I am mo betta, I will try to get the work myself.

This is the gym: https://www.facebook.com/#!/devilrayallstars?sk=wall
BTW, I wont be leaving the picture for long but the folks here in the coffee house seem like a safe bunch of weird-os, laff.

Thanks! So what do you know about music for comp cheer and/or gymnastics?

Thanks,

J

Here is a vid from last year of the group one level above. You can hear the music, though I just listened through my lappy speakers and you can see what they do... in case you don't have any idae about the music. I would think since it is the fastest growing sport, there will be a good market for some of us to tap... huh?

I saw this post on the forum.  Did you ever start a business with the cheer music?  I am in desperate need of several mixes asap.  Or, can you make suggestions as to who can help?

No, I did not. It seems to be a closed circle. They use themes like, for instance, "work" and incorporate all kind of tunes that have a "work" theme. Taking Care of Business along with other songs and according to the timing of the elements of the routine.
Good luck with it! They play it louder than a rock concert too...
She is with the Sting Ray Allstars out of Cobb county, GA now. I'd just pull up some routines from YT or somewhere. They will more than likely ask you for changes too, I've seen that quite a bit so stay flexible.

We are new coaches and have a competition in a few weeks and the music did not come through.  Is it "legal" to use music from youtube for a competition?  Is that what other gyms do?  Please help with any info you might have.  I fear we are in over our heads!
