Comping Colors Problem?

In the new video on comping from Cakewalk, it shows someone using the comping tool. He gets nice color differences between the muted clips and the selected ones. Red and black I think. I just get shades of grey. Very hard to see the selected clips. Is anyone else habing this problem, or know of a solution?
