Comping Mode behaving like Sound On Sound Mode & Not muting

CbB is doing something a little weird when it comes to recording midi (works fine on audio)
 
After setting up a loop and recording the phrase the second time round the loop what was played first is not supposed to be heard but is.
 
Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed does anyone else have the same problem.

    Try enabling Auto Punch, and check "Mute Previous Takes"
