Comping Over and Over Again ??

Hi i just tried to record a track > i armed a track and hit record > and now  i cannot get it to stop recording ?? its gone awol on me.
 
if i hit the main record button it stops recording but keeps playing and if i hit the space bar to stop playback it starts recording again?
 
i was away during the comping updates how do i stop this thing ????

    It will stop automatically when your disk is full.

    Sorry I have no idea, I have never heard of this issue. Seems like a weird bug.

    Haha I thought it was a new comping feature so after 10 minutes of trying everything my only option was task manager .

    Sympathy friend. I have run into several comping issues with the most recent two updates to SONAR (Artist). One is the introduction of clicks between comp clips. This seems to be related to tiny clip crops using "crop abutting clips" tool. If the crop abutting clips tool is active it's way too easy to crop a clip with the slightest mouse movement. The crop abutting clips tool is selected automatically when you put he mouse in the upper region between comp clips. The new tools are fine but there should be a way selecting consecutive comp clips and forcing them to abut to each other. Or make the fade tool the default when the cursor is in the upper region between clips not the crop abutting clips tools. The crop abutting clips tool is too dangerous.
