Completing comping

So I used comping and combined my vocal takes into one comped take. How do I turn this into a usable, editable track?? If I flatten the comp it becomes uneditable!? I don't want/need all the old takes anymore - is there no way to just make a normal track of it. Was happy comp worked a little better but if I can't edit the track it is useless! I comped a backing vocal and want to copy it to a second chorus but no luck.

I've always thought the automatic locking of the track is a strange default.

me as well. I typically unlock it then bounce to clips just to play it safe.

I don't think so. Pretty easy to comp quickly.

no speed comping is when you press CTRL+Spacebar to loop sections.

it was my fault Keith. I was holding down CTRL+Spacebar. I should have been holding down SHIFT+Spacebar.
    my bad.
    Thanks for the reply.
