Computers...

...they are the worst thing that has ever come about in my life. Well worst, funny thing I guess.

I know exactly why too.

The main reason is that I don't know enough about them so I have to
deal with other people that don't know but they have books with steps
to read to me...but I can't understand them because they don't speak
English that I can understand and neither can my wife- at least I'm not alone.

I'm glad I didn't have to know about repairing televisions. I like that they
are disposable now. I wish PCs were too.

Dell taking over Alienware was the worst possible thing that could have
happened.
I've had to deal with both of them. Well my wife has too and I've had to listen
to what she has been dealing with.
She just called and a forty-five hundred dollar notebook that she and the kid
play with has to be shipped back because it just beeps. Good, send it back.
Well they argued with her that their computer says our address that we've
had for the last twenty something years is wrong.
I told her to tell them- perfect, you have a computer that talks about **** it knows
nothing about and we have one of your computers that beeps and if our
address is wrong use the one you used to send this piece of **** to us.

Everytime I stick my head out of the woods I have to witness the most stupid and
weird **** I can imagine. It is absolutely no wonder to me why this country is suckin'
hind tit.

Well the best thing about computers the way I see it....folks get to learn how to type
and maybe learn how to read and comprehend some too.....but then again...I'm headin'
back into the woods...that's enough laughing for one day.

Bad service can ruin the enjoyment of any product.  Sorry, you and your wife had to put up with that.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

My ADK DAW Laptop with 3x 750gb hard drives, spare power supply, 6gb memory and 17" screen cost ~ half that.

Does that thing have a link to the Space Station?

    Jan what a nice thougt.

We're fine. We just don't understand how things can be so screwed up.
She's retired but we've had jobs all of our lives where one had to perform
    professionally or hit the road.
Just hard to understand how that just doesn't seem to hold true anymore.

She deals with them now. I have no tolerance for stupidity and would just
throw them in the trash if left to me. I understand the mechanical part...my
problem is having to deal with other people...it's simple to me- I don't have
    to deal with them.
When she decides not to deal with them she'll let me toss them out and yes
my recording PC can go in the pile too until they learn how to make them and
provide service for them when they don't.

We paid hundreds..I don't know but I think she said 5 hundred more for hardware
and software IN HOUSE support. I said fine. Let them come fix the things when they
    bite it.
Now they are telling us they have cut-backs and mail it to them. Fine...up yours too.

I know when I stick my head out of the woods.....I'm going to be hearing about the
Fed-Ex guy that couldn't find our house that he's had to find a hundred times before....
I know because he always drives in the yard and leaves tracks in the grass.
I've talked to him once....he was explaining to me that I needed to put my house number
on the house... so I turned around and pointed at the front of the house and asked him.."ya mean like that?" or do you mean...and walked over to a section of fence at the
street corner and "or do ya mean like that?"...the section of fence he almost knocked down
    driving into the yard.
Personally I believe problems/issues like that are nothing a good ass whippin' wouldn't fix but I'm mellow in my old age.

Probably. They wanted to be able to watch 3d movies too...fine...now I have a shelf full of 3d movies
and nobody sits there watching them.

I was going to put you a link to it....I typed Alienware into the bing search and hit enter....at the
bottom it says "done".  Perfect blank page. If your search works....check an Alienware 17" laptop or
notebook or piece of **** with 3D and glasses LOL. Don't forget after you hit that 5 grand mark to add in the additional coverage for in home service. You are going to love it. The guarantee it.

    Michael.

    Breathe.

I'm not upset Ed. This isn't new. This is normal. Has been since 1992 when I purchased
our first PC with a Pentium 100 from IBM. $3,200.00 dollars from radio shack.

"Cutbacks" do not absolve them from living up their contract regarding the extended warranty.

If I was going to spend $4500 on a notebook I'd get it from  http://powernotebooks.com/, their custom Sagers beat anything by Alienware, and the customer service is very one and one and personal. I once ordered a Sager from them years ago and the owner spend almost an hour on the phone with me.

    Hi,

I probably would be playing more music and writing less if computers had not come around 24 years ago ... but they made a lot of my writing way easier to edit and clean up ... so no complaints there.

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

I'll tell my wife. She may want a different one...I don't know.

I won't be buying another PC of any kind.
She can buy and deal with whatever tickles her as she did this one.

    She's nice.

I think that is why she deals with them...they say such stupid **** it's hard not to laugh.

I really think she has the inner vision much like the old sitcom, Green Acreas.
I know when we first moved here, 22 or so years ago that if you talked on the phone you
best be quick. Less than a minute and it would go dead.
My friends would call back..."what happened"...I'd tell them I fell off the pole...and they
    believed me. !

I'm not nice. I think they're figgin idiots but glad they entertain my wife.
