Configuration questions

I upgraded to X2 from version 8.5 recently and I had some things I got used to and haven't  been able to change the configuration for those things.

Here's my current list:
1. F9 and F10 used to be a way to mark the beginning and ending of an audio selection. Is that something I have to configure now?

2. When I record multiple takes on a single track, there was a way to toggle the multi-clip view in and out with a button. I haven't been able to find that button. Please help.

3. When I'm in play mode and I hit the stop button I don't want the cursor to return to where I started from, I want the cursor remain where it is when I stop it.

4. When I import audio I used to import multiple wav files and it would import each one into a separate track. Now it imports them all into the same track. How can I change that?

Thanks,

John Sollie Holmes

    2. multiple takes are now in "take lanes". There are two buttons at the bottom left of a track. One is for audio take lanes and the other is for automation lanes. Click the audio take lanes to reveal your takes. Some people have trouble with this so you just have to figure out what's best for you.

    3. There is a setting for that. It's probably in the playback options. You can hit CTRL+Spacebar to stop it in place also.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Many key bindings changed from 8.5 to X2. The menus show the current key bindings. You can modify key bindings in Edit > Preferences > Customization > Keyboard Shortcuts, make sure to click the Advanced radio button at the bottom of the Preferences dialog

Check out the X2 Take Lanes video http://www.cakewalk.com/C...ONARU.aspx/Get-Started You might find some of the other X2 videos helpful too.

Track view menu Options > On Stop, Rewind to Now Marker

Supposed to be fixed in X2a update

    3. CTRL + W toggles whether or not the cursor returns to last position or stays at the stop point.

Shift + G to move the Now Time to the beginning of a selection.
Ctrl + G to move the Now Time to the end of a selection.

You may need to set up the Ctrl + G shortcut manually because it (sometimes) doesn't come setup with new X2 installations. It didn't on mine, but it's the default shortcut listed in the docs.

To do this, choose Edit > Preferences. Choose the Customization - Keyboard Shortcuts category. Look for the Go To Thru function and bind that to Ctrl+G.
