Congratulations Cakewalk - X1 is a BIG step forward

I just finished spending a few hours getting to know X1.

No doubt - the learning curve is high, and I have many frustrations with some of the GUI/bugginess/"where's the ___" etc. Also, I think that I will have to get a bigger screen just to accommodate X1's layout.

But whoa . . . there are some major improvements here. ProChannel is at the top of the list. I re-mixed a song of mine from last year using the ProChannel on the mix and master. The difference is huge. I can hardly wait to try 64 bit and 96kHz.

    Yep it sure is.

There are several functions that have changed/moved and most of them IMHO are for the better once the new way is realised. The edit filter is great and working with multiple envelopes is especially much improved. The speed at which it is now possible to insert nodes at selection and edit them is fantastic.

The Smart tool is really useful and has helped speed up my workflow, now there's no need to swap tools from one working area to the next. I think the only time I ever use one of the other tools is comping when I switch to the mute tool.

Screensets are a huge help as well and well worth taking the time to set them up, then save them as a template.

Once they get some more customisation back into X1 it will be even better.
