Connecting a software like VMPK (Virtual Midi Piano Keybaord) to Sonar Platimum.

As title states, I've been here for a little bit trying to figure this out. Due to finacial troubles my interface and midi controller are going to be purchased at a later date. I have trouble trying to create music without any instruments lol. Has anyone figured out how to connect a software keyboard to play replace a midi controller?

similar thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2991521 in addition to the virtual keyboard, a virtual MIDI cable is needed to connect the keyboard to the DAW. Hopefully Cakewalk will release their planned integrated virtual controller/keyboard solution soon

Thanks I can't seem to figure out how to set up the in/outs. Now ythe input from the virtual keyboard are mute, making me believe the signal is going into the day properly, but there is no output or synth reaction. Making me moreso confused.

Using the software from http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2991556 message in the thread I linked above

After installing LoopBe1 and PC73,
Add LoopBe1 to Midi Inputs in preferences

Then
1) configure the output of PC73 to LoopBe1
2) Add a synth, configure the input to LoopBe1
3) make sure input echo is enabled

play on
