Console View - module selections hidden from view - any way to change it?
Is it just me, or anyone else have the same issue? I really don't like the way the "console view" presents some items in my X3 Studio... especially the "Sends" modules. Why couldn't they show all the Sends for each strip listed in an open window, like they do for the FX module? What am I missing here as a noob? This seems sorta prehistoric unless I'm mixed up as to how to view it or something... you have to click on an arrow to scroll to the next Send bus. Goofy. There's all this empty space that seems to be wasted above the gain nobs... Another thought... why not list the implemented Prochannel FX in the same window as the other FX ? Display them a little differently or whatever, but in the same window. Why do you have to again click on an arrow to see what is implemented? Again, noob here, but this seems real old school to me. I'm not sure, have never used other DAW's, but watching other videos with Reaper and Protools, it seems they are displaying plugins/sends as I'd like to see them, in plain view at all times.

Pro Channel modules/FX are listed separately as they can only be used in the Pro channel. There is the ability to show two sends at one time which is limiting, if you can afford it go for the upgrade each send is displayed as you add it in the latest version.

Hi. This (send modules) has been updated in the new SONAR 2015. It is all just different ways of doing things, from DAW to DAW. Watch some youtube videos of SONAR, and you will suddenly get "the SONAR" way Best of luck.

I don't know where you're looking but in Comsole view you can see an unlimited number of fx and sends. The vertical boxes just get taller as you put more of each in.
Pro Channel is a seperate set of fx totally seperate from the normal fx box and has its own plugins which can only be used there. The beauty of it is that it can be made to disappear unlike an fx box.
You will also get more detail per channel strip depending on which widgets you have selected to see and whether or not the strip is in wide or narrow mode. You have a lot of flexibility in how you can see things depending on your choices for any given activity. At the left of the track pane is an Inspector pane where you can examine in detail any selected track/bus and its associated bus and ProChannel without having to open a console strip. Maybe what you really need is a little more familiarity with the myriad possibilities before you lock yourself out of usefull options that you haven't yet discovered.
On the other hand maybe Sonar isn't the DAW for you and another one may suit you better. I warn you though if too many choices in Sonar has you concerned wait till you spend some time with Reaper.

No, I have a maximum of 2 sends viewable in console view. The vertical boxes don't get taller, you have to scroll.

Sorry, I'm just getting going, and maybe Sonar isn't my ideal platform, but can't afford to switch horses now. The Send display in the Track View is great, you get a listing of all sends, simple, very compact, clear and concise, why couldn't they just use that same setup in a window in the Console View? And it just doesn't make any sense to have the Prochannel stuff "disappear" in the Console view... doesn't it make you wonder what you have set up in there sometimes, and you have to take the extra step just to view it? Also, in Track View, any Prochannel stuff you have engaged doesn't appear in the FX window like all the other plugins... you have to go look for it... this is just a plain mistake to me..., added work. Anyways, my 2 cents, I'd like to see all sends and plugins in plain view at all times.

It's actually the lack of choices in the Console View that has me bummed out... sorry...

Upgrade from SONAR X3e Studio to either Artist or Professional, (There is Platinum as well but that is the flagship version) Do not forget you can pay for it monthly now. (But you must pay for the full 12 months to get to keep it)

Hi. I believe that you can see the ProChannel in the inspector in X3 (I) under ProChannel. I for one use templates / presets for my ProChannel a lot, so I know what is under "each hidden module". It saves space, and allows for easier (for me, anyway) viewing the Console View (especially if you use track / bus colors) when you have a large project. All the "sends and plugins stacking windows" have been upgraded in SONAR 2015. Best of luck. I wrote while John gave you the answer in a short version

Keeping in mind that Platinum fixes most of the viewing limitations in X3's Console view, I think what you experience relates to what are the intended functions of track view and console view. For me, track view is where I set up sends, adjust them, edit clips, add clip FX, etc. When I'm done with that, then I switch over to Console view for the actual mixing. In the Console view, the Inspector is very handy for making ProChannel tweaks so you don't have to open the flyout. Rather than try to make the Console view do what's optimized in Track view, I use the fabulous and highly underrated D keyboard command to switch between the two views. Hit D - tweak in track view - hit D again - back to mixing. If my keyboard dies a premature death, it will be from wearing out the D key...

D and I... very quick and very useful toggles... thanks. However, I'm still of the opinion at this point that we'll use the h*** out of the D because we toggle to see on the Track view what could have easily been shown on the Console view.

If you want to see all the ProChannels in the Console view, ctrl-click one of the ProChannel flyout buttons and they'll all fly out. If nothing else, it impresses the living daylights out of clients

Thats not going to happen in X3. Its an old version. What many others are telling you is there is no point in ragging on X3's shortcomings when many of those were taken care of in Sonar 2015, the current version. The other thing you should get familiar with is screen sets. They will allow you to setup your project the way you want with easy access to various views. There are tons of videos on them as well as other aspects of Sonar. I wouldn't ask advice from new users that don't know the ends and outs of Sonar. It would be the blind leading the blind. You already learned a lot here just in the few posts the helpful Sonar members have posted. We will continue to help as needed.

Have you tried the demo for the new SONAR? Keyboard shortcuts is another helpful tool for some of the above comments. It is impossible to see everything at once, but much is customizable and shortcuts help with navigation.
ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Agreed! Simple experiment: Measure the square inches of your monitor. Measure the square inches of an SSL console.
