Console emulator killing audio engine

Hi all
Sonar Platinum, with latest version.  I have a moderate sized project but Rewired to Reason 8.  I was getting occasional audio engine crashes (with a loud "click") requiring program restart; tracked the trouble down to the console emulator in the master bus.  If I turned it off, the audio would then work, and if I reloaded the emulator, audio would work for awhile and then crash again.  This is not a big issue in my studio but am offering this info to anyone who might be experiencing a similar problem. And, if anyone has fixed this I'd be happy to know that too.

I'm using a Roland Octa-capture with ASIO drivers; I have the driver settings at maximum stability.

oooh, tungsten.  I like it!

I have had several occasions where my audio output would stop. Some of the channels would show clipped meters even if there was no audio playing. Sometimes a removing of the console emulation would remedy the problem but then soon after I would get a crash.

I cannot consistently reproduce it but I do believe there is something with the pro-channel or the console emulators that can mess up the signal flow.

Have you tried turning off "64-bit Double Precision Engine" in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings?

I'll try switching the 64 bit engine off--should I turn it back on for rendering?

Switching 64 bit engine off did not fix the problem--

Freezing Reason seems to have been a big help.

If using the LP and MP 64EQ in any mode other than "Non-Linear" it will choke the system.

I could swear this was an issue some time ago and it was supposedly fixed.

I'm not using the above mentioned EQ.  Once, long ago, I had some audio engine trouble which was solved by copying all the data, instrumentation, fx, etc. into a blank new project.  The bug in the old project didn't come along into the new one.  Sounds kind of tedious to me right now, but maybe I'll give that a try this week.
