Console view disappearance act

This is more of an annoyance than actual bug, but here goes...

I use two display setup, and not a long ago, happened to change my primary display to be the one on the left instead of the right. So now, if I open a project I last worked before the change, the track view opens at the left display, full screen, as it supposed to be. If I go to Views menu to open the Console View (which I have undocked earlier to appear on the other display) nothing happens. No Console View. Technically, it’s already open on the display that’s to the left of the primary display that’s no longer there. So opening it from the menu or using the shortcut does nothing.

This probably happens with other undocked windows, too, when you have changed your display configuration, and you can, of course, overcome the problem by selecting a different screenset (at least when you again remember, after a bit of a panic, that’s the way to do it), but it would be nice to have a sort of a shortcut – say, right clicking the Views–* View menu item restores the window to a display you actually have.

Or am I alone with this little annoyance? Thanks for reading this far, anyway.

This is for windows that are open and show on the task bar, but open off screen where you can't see them
    Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, Un-docked Console View doesn’t show on Taskbar.
There’s also a ”Cascade” in Sonar’s ”Window” Menu, but that didn’t help either.

One solution might be to temporarily switch your screens back to your old config, dock the errant window and then switch back.

Or have you tried to get Windows to rearrange your respective windows.  In Win 10, which I note you are running, there is an option's from a right click on the task bar to.
    "Cascade Windows"
    "Show Windows Stacked"

I have know idea if they will work.

One other idea is to temporarily set your system to a single screen and then try the above options.

    Thanks, Wookiee,
but the Screensets option i mentioned is the fastest cure at the moment. I was just wondering about a possibility of having an even faster and simpler one.

Or, if I may dream, a DAW that doesn’t open any windows to a non-existent display.
