Constant note with recoding Midi

We are trying to record a midi track with MC using a Yamaha YPT-300 keyboard. When we are finished recording the frist note is sustained for the whole track. Additional notes appear to begin when pressed, but they too continue for the duration of the track. Any ideas how to fix this so notes are recorded only while they are pressed on the keyboard?

    sompin is not right in the config for the midi, try different setting, this is one i have not heard of yet.

    make sure that the keyboard and the track are on the same channel, try a different channel. Make sure it is not channel 10, that is for drums only. check the midi in and out under options/midi devices.

    Hmmmmmm also check the midi settings on the keyboard.
