Not had a chance to look yet, I'm teaching.  I'll have a look later tonight.

I don't use loops very often, but I believe there are one shots as well.  Maybe they'll inspire me to use loops.

Still nice to receive free rewards.  Thanks, Cakewalk.  I'm still loving X2.

    good bit...free loops

bad bit... in wav format  (would take half / less the download size / time IF in rx2 format AND with slice points )

(I have a fair few of the full versions already - the dnb ones , so no biggy to me)

    A quick three questions...
    1. Where do I put them?
    2. Is there a different location for the two main folders (i.e. 'Loops' & 'Sounds and FX')?
    3. Why am I so dense?
I haven't used audio (drum) loops since Guitar Tracks 2 & 3, so any advice on where to put these bad boys in X2 would be gratefully received

Well, I'm faced with the same. Don't really use audio loops, but thought I'd give them a try.

My only suggestion, though I've not done it yet, is C: Cakewalk Content/ Audio Library.  There are two folders - "Loops" and "One Shots".  I guess copy Loops to Loops and One Shots to One Shots, but probably in their own folder.

    That's on my system, anyway.

Steve, I put mine in the root of my Audio Library along with all the other loops & stuff

This reminds me that I must spend a serious amount of time organising my loops folders - they're a complete mess!

I have all my samples sent to a C:\Samples\... location (including the Cakewalk content), and set that as the default for the media browser.  In reality though you can drop them wherever you like, you'll just have to use the media browser to locate them wherever they are.

Wish I could get the Halloween sounds to actually show up in Rapture - where are they supposed to be?  Followed the instructions but no dice.

If you've copied them to the right place, go into Rapture, open the patch browser & hit F5

I never understand why they don't just check the folder for the total number of files and if the total differs trigger it to refresh on it's own, or do a checksum on the folder.. if it differs,  then refresh

Nice gift!  I just previewed about 100 of the loops and a good smattering of the one-shots, and if you're a Loop User, you should find quite a few useable things in this collection.

    Thanks Cakewalk!

OK... that's nice if you're doing hip hop, electronica, house, dance, and the 57+ varieties of those genres. Quite frankly, I wouldn't know what I would do with most of these. If I put a loop in my music that said "In the year of '89, I stole back my black mind" my listeners would be confused.  I think I'd like to get a job recording and selling these kinds of sounds...I can see it:

Producer: "OK, Dave. Bring up patch 89 and press the A5 key briefly.
    (Dave presses the key briefly.)
Producer "OK. That's a take. Solid, Dave! OK. Let's do patch 90 now. This time use G4 and put a little mod wheel on it."
    Dave: "Sure, you've got it!"
Producer: "Just 437 more and we're done with this."
    And so it goes...
