Anyone from here submitting an entry to this contest? I noticed they want a video of the artist as an additional requirement to join this contest, will you be disqualified if you don't put up a video on Youtube? (Will they completely disregard the "musical submission" due to the lack of this?)

Well, based on what we know from watching music giants Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, videos are the only way to know if music is good. If the dancers outnumber the musicians onstage by 40 to 1, you know it's great music...

If the dancers outnumber the musicians onstage by 40 to 1, you know it's great music... that's true as the general public is concidered the sole authority on deciding what sounds "good".....but did you know that the actual "judges" are the staff from Cakewalk? Didn't X1 change everything or Am I the only one still mixing with a bowl & spoon?

UbiquitousBubba Dude! I was told there is no spoon. My hands still hurt from eating soup yesterday... No, no, no... Contest Rule 117, Paragraph 43, Subparagraph "Fluffy", Article 6.178-BAPU/4( Am) clearly states: "Each submitted song must be played entirely WITH spoons."

If the dancers outnumber the musicians onstage by 40 to 1, you know it's great music... Good point! Additionally, you have to replace any "verteran" musicians. Shania Twain replace all of her old established studio musicians with young video friendly musicians. I am NOT implying that the folks here are NOT video friendly.

Jan, you'd never believe it brother. We had it all set up to make a vid by doing the blue screen thing. We were going to video me and Bapu first and send it to the other members to add their parts, then integrate the band and add a background. We decided to go with Mike's Village People idea so folks would know it's really us. I was the construction worker, Bapu was the native American . We meet in a small studio with the camera/ producer guy and for some reason Bapu kept obsessing over how the camera guy was wearing his ball hat. He wanted him to wear it with the bill sideways, he even moved it that way once but the guy straightened it back and insisted we get started. We did get some stuff recorded, but there was dancing planned. One thing I failed to consider was the safety factor of being anywhere near a Bigfoot when he's busting a move. The Doctor says my pinkie toe will heal in time. We got about 1 minute of video down when Bapu stopped and went after the guys hat again and tripped on some cords and fell on the guy injuring him and busted up the camera. The rest of the video budget went to hospital bills and lawyer fees.. No future plans of a video, but if there is. I have a written doctors excuse to get me out of it.
