Control Surface Plug-in has been updated to version 1.4.0 ?
Hi, in X1d, http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013277 , we can see : VS-700 Control Surface Plug-in has been updated to version 1.4.0. I can't find it in Knowledge Base. Anyone found it ?

It's included in the X1d update (as 1.3 was included in X1b).

Ok thanks. In your "Programs and features" in Windows 7 Control Panel, I see Version : 1.0 for VS-700 Control Surface Plug-in (x64). Is it the same for you ? I updated once manually to 1.2 but I can't remember if it's before X1b or not.

Yeah, 1.2 was a manual update, for 8 / 8.5. It's been built in ever since, if I recall correctly.

Just checked this. I don't even have an install entry for "VS-700 Control Surface Plug-in". I suspect this is because I never installed the standalone one for 8.5, and have only used it with the rolled-in X1 version. However, if I go to "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces", right click on the "VS700.dll" file, choose properties and go to the details tab, I can see that it is indeed version 1.4.0.

Cool. For the record, the Windows installed programs list is not 100% reliable on this kind of thing, as you've discovered. It keeps track installers rather than the programs themselves. So since you once installed the old version and never did an explicit uninstall, Windows still has that item in the list. I imagine if you try to uninstall it, it will either uninstall 1.4.0, or more likely, tell you it can't find the files.
