Control softsynths (without MidiLearn-function) with Sonar X1

Hello! I use Sonar X1 Studio. I have several softsynths without MidiLearn-function, but would like to assign breath control (midi controller #2) to them. Is it possible to get the sound from these synths, but control them with Sonar X1? Most synths sound good , if you assign breath control to „filter cutoff“. Is there a possibility that Sonar X1 takes over this control?

Depends on the synth. Some have an internal routing matrix and some have fixed values (example Filter Cutoff will only respond to CC# 62). Is there a specific synth you want to control?

For exemple: Altair 4: http://www.hgf-synthesizer.de/ Minitron: http://www.easytoolz.de/news.html They react to the breath controller in the way, that they get louder, if you blow harder. But there is no change in the character of the sound. Is it possible to change the signal with Sonar X1, for exemple with a plugin like Sonitus FX Modulator?

I did quickly read the manual for a few synths at hgf. Apparantly most synths -do- support MIDI Learn but not all parameters can be controlled. Some synths have CC implementation listed near the end of the manual. I'll take a look at a synth later on tonight Some cool freebies!

OK, Altair 4 supports Midi Learn. Right-click any knob you want to control in Altair 4. Select "Edit". Assign the CC# (it actually says 2. Breath Controller so it should be easy to find). If you have trouble with this or another synth let me know.

I believe Sonitus Mudulator is for modulating Audio tracks. It will not modulate Midi parameters if that's what you're suggesting. You could place it -after- the Altair in the fx bin and it would modulate the audio -output- of Altair, and you can likely control it with CC# but I don't think this is what you want.
