Having asked that, I realise that there is at least SFZ the player, and that is simply a VST. SInce they are alos developing a non-scripted editor, your are almost up to Vienna for SF2, only it can be plugged in anywhere.

Thanks, Kurt. But - there are a lot of people on these forums who've done a thing or two (and who know Cakewalk products way better than I do). b rock (on this thread) probably knows more about SFZ (and Rapture, and Dim Pro) than anyone except Rene (who invented SFZ, and, er, those other things). Hmm. Maybe they were separated at birth? Perhaps by alligator??

A lot of people here are worth listening to; it's why I keep coming back.

Best,
Jim, aging music geek

Hi Jim,

Yes I agree. B rock is very knowledgeable, and there are others, depending on the forum. For instance, I've learned an awful lot about audio production from the posts of a user named yep on the techniques forum. What a great resource, the web. (I'll remember to thank Al Gore for his invention the next time we cross paths).

Sure beats how it used to be--alone in the dark with only your inability to understand the lousy manual and no one to call.

See ya later,
