Controller Edit Tutorial

I am not a keyboard player and find it easiest to just play the midi notes on my Axiom when recording and then come back and add the cc's after the fact, rather then coordinate mod wheels, midi controllers, and pedals while trying to plunk notes.  For guitar players doing it all on the take seems like walking, chewing gum, and doing brain surgery at the same time.
Anybody ever come across a good tutorial for editing cc# controllers in piano roll or event list? Or any suggestions on work flow to help speed this along? thanks
