Controller handles X2 Piano Roll

Trying to edit a MIDI map in piano roll view, using Sonar X2 Producer.  The controller handles for velocity are not showing, I have Show Controller Handles selected.  What do I need to select differently?

It's a display bug. Workround is to undock the PRV, then deselect floating from the resulting PRV windows menu. Change the setting then re-dock it.

You'll now have controller handles that won't go away until you repeat the process.

I'm not getting that to work, but not sure what you mean by "deselect floating from the resulting PRV windows menu."  I undocked, tried changing several settings (controller handles, showing velocity tails, showing the velocity window) but never got the handles to show.  Re-docking didn't change it after those particular change attempts.

I DID manage to make the keys disappear in the left side of the PRV, and now the nicely shaped MIDI keystrokes have turned into skinny lines (? as I recall it was back in Sonar 8.5?).  Not sure what I did to get here, but I managed to make it even less view-friendly!...

Undock the PRV from the multidock, (right click on it's tab and select undock).
Click in the top left hand corner of the floating PRV and select "Disable floating"

Make the changes and then redock it.

Thanks for the explanation.  Went through the steps though and it didn't fix it.  (I did correct the view problem first -- View tab of the PRV, selected "fit MIDI content" and it reverted.)  While undocked and floating disabled, I unselected then re-selected Show Controller Handles in the Controllers tab of the PRV.  I assume those were the correct steps, but I still cannot see handles nor select the controller to change velocity.

Realized I AM able to grab the controller if I click on it JUST right with the pencil tool, and try to drag it up or down.  But it doesn't stick very well and is hard to adjust where I want it.  I feel like I'm carving intricate details on a sculpture just to adjust the velocity!

TBH the handles is only a display thing, they can be edited with or without.

The smart tool will also work on controllers for drawing and adjustment.
