Convert Audio Drums to MIDI?

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if I can somehow take an audio drum loop and convert it all to MIDI.  I tried following this:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X2&language=3&help=AudioSnap.15.html

but it really only copied the transient markers, which is just the kick drum I think.   Is there a way for it to somehow analyze every type of sound and atleast map each one to a different note?

Thank You,
Adam

just drag the audio track into a midi track and it converts it.  Mapping the drums is another thing but it pretty much works.  And I'm talking X3.

Yep, that's the way to do it if you have X3 Melodyne will do the conversion. Search Cakewalk's site , there is a tutorial on how to use this method by normalizing the level and using a noise gate.

Here's a good link to start:

I did some testing with it versus Drumagog and both methods worked quite well
