Convert audio to sampler track - Sonar 9 request
I Have been forced to use a Mac and Logic 9 the last few weeks. Its a tiresome job... BUT, one feature that Logic has, that I would love to see in Sonar 9 is the ability to take an audio track, right click on it and select "convert to sample track" and Logic splits up the audio either by transient markers or regions ( you decide ) and map the chopped audio to a sampler track, load the samples and hey presto ! See this video to see what I am talking about : samples in Logic How fast is that ! Too bad the Logic sampler is a dog I work a lot with Kontakt in Sonar, and I usually chop stuff up in Recycle or other audio editing programs before loading the samples in Kontakt...takes quite a lot of time compared to method described above... So, I don't know if Cakewalk can cooperate with NI to sort out a similar concept, or if Cakewalk will have to drill up their own sampler ? anywais, I love Sonar, and I would love to have this feature in Sonar 9 All the best

check out Machine By Native instruments, Its it will find the transients and 1 click it maps it to the pads. Then trigger away..edit whatever, What would be cool ,if it could be done is that the piano roll window becomes your track view window and every key can be routed to an output, so in other words you have one big sampler and all your work is done in there, something onto those lines would be cool. The workflow would be amazingly fast...

That's not quite the same as auto-loading into a sampler, but in a way, an audio file (wav) IS a sample unto itself. There are a number of slicers out there, though -- some even free. Of course there are good samplers that will slice as well, though again not built-in to Sonar.

I know this is an old thread but still.... I have also seen this function in Logic, and it is fantastic. The EXS24 sampler in Logic seem pretty neat as well..
