Converting a 2 hour seminar into a Podcast

Hi, I'm a newbie to Podcasts so hoping someone can help.
I've got a 2 hour seminar recorded (three different speakers & a Q&A session - help with Parkinsons Disease) that I need to convert to a Podcast - any suggestions on best approach would be much appreciated - in particular indexing content/ meta tags for XML within Sonar (or not)

I'm also looking to get all the content transcribed and try and add that as well.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

Sonar doesn't do meta tags for XML, you'll need a wave editor for that, I beileve.

what do you mean by transcribed and added?  do you mean adding text?  that's another thing that's not really possible with sonar.  you CAN add "lyrics" but it's not going to show on the screen at the same time as the podcast.  in order to do that you'll need a video/movie editor.  sonar will allow you to edit the AUDIO portion of a movie, but you can't edit the video portion of a movie, so for something like that you'll need a movie editor.

Thanks heaps for the response - I was thinking of adding the transcript to the XML data to help in Search Engine Optiminisation (if that makes sense), alternatively just as text on the web page.

I'm sure there is someone here who knows more about this kind of stuff than I do.  I have never worked with anything like you're describing.  but I'd think that sonar is not the only tool you'd need to complete your tasks.

Sounds like a job for a Wave editing program like Wave Lab, Audacity or Audition. You'll need to then render it into a MP3 file for pod cast. Sonar is not much of a wave editor, it's a super duper multi tracker MIDI machine.
Transcribing will need to be done by a fast typist. Not sure if there's such thing as a voice to text editor that actually works.
