Converting from 32 to 64bit

I've been running X3d under 32 bit Windows 8.1 and will soon be converting from to 8.1 in 64 bit.  Not the easiest of procedures! However once finished, I was wondering what processes are necessary to move my Sonar X3d into 64 bit mode.  Any helpful tips?

You have to start from scratch by doing a fresh install of Win 8.1 x64 as there's no way to convert 32 bit to 64bit. Then you need to install the 64bit version of Sonar. When you run the installer on a 64bit OS you get the option to install the 64bit or 32bit version. You can install the 32bit Sonar too by running the installer a 2nd time. They each go into their own discrete folders.

    In Windows x64 you'll have you'll have c:/program files/ for 64 bit programs
    C:/program files (x86)/ for 32 bit ones.

That's a basic run through. There'll be considerations regarding 64 and 32 bit plugins ie. Where to put them.

Thanks, my research into this matter revealed pretty much the same information but it is reassuring to get it from someone else in the Sonar Universe.

My SSD will arrive today and I'm swapping my OS from 32bit on my HDD to 64bit on the SSD.  I've been making a list of considerations and install notes, specifically for installing the OS and programs on the SSD and plugins on the HDD.  If you'd like I can post it.   I think I'll just go for the 64bit install and see how it works.
For Sonar, if you upgraded from X2, you should install X2 first to get the VVocal and other features that are not present in X3.
