Converting imported midi to step sequencer deletes most of the track

Hello,

I created a midi drum track I like in Band In A Box. I've now imported the midi file into Sonar, set up session drummer, got a kit going I like with a track folder, all is well.

I want to adjust timing, swing and put in some velocity changes on the track with step sequncer.

I open the track in step sequencer and most of the track disappears. I'm thinking it'll save back when I've made my changes, but it doesn't, it just stay's gone. The changes are applied to what's left, 17 measures out of 85, but that doesn't help.

I like all the stuff BIAB did with rolls and stops etc, so the fact that it's now a groove clip that I can pull out doesn't help. I'd like to keep that track as is.

Help?

Thanks,
Steve

The step sequencer defaults to 16 bars. I believe the "Convert Midi Clip(s)To Step Sequencer" function truncates the clip to fit into the default step sequencer. Unless this is changed, the only thing I know to do would be to chop up longer clips into 16 bar segments before conversion. BTW, if you are using X1 or X2 you might get better and faster answers by posting the the X1/X2 forum above.
