Converting midi
Anyone know how to convert the AD drum midi to properly work with EZDrummer2? All of the midi files I have that came with AD2 sounds odd in EZD2.
I found a program that will convert midi to different formats, but it's last beta update was 2010. So, I'm not sure if that's even relevant now.

Isn't it only a matter of MIDI mapping due to different software having kitpieces under different keys?
I'd think there's a map to join AD and EZD. I've never had/used EZD, though.

I have found a workaround within EZD2 for individual files, but I really want to convert them all in batches.
Are there converters that syncronise the key mapping between VSTs by actually editing the MIDI file? I've never heard of such. If there is, I'm interested to know. There is no MIDI- format per se that would be different in EZD and AD, MIDI is just MIDI. I've only heard people use MIDI-mapping in these cases.

I looked into making a drummap for this, then realized that note assignments between different kits on the same side of the equation change.
Seems like I remember one or both having a GM mode, but I haven't gone any further with it. Getting the whole shabang setup to operate seamlessly between the two is closer to a career than a project.
I'm sure this situation is no accident.

This thread made me think of something I had not tried before, but seems to work. When a drum map internal to AD2 is selected, it also affects the drag/drop functionality of pulling mid files from the "Beats" tab in AD2 to a MIDI track. A map created internal to AD2 that maps to EZD2 would allow for this, but AD2s MIDI files are not exposed for any "batch conversion" that I know of, which is a hurdle for what it seems you are aiming for.

The only way that works for me is the grind.
Decide what your midi map for all drum modules is going to be,
and force your modules to conform, BEFORE you start recording.
Making a master map may be tedious, but it's a one time deal
for each module/plugin, and after that you lose NO time
setting up drum key assignments.
It will never be perfect if someone/something else
sets it up, too much feature variance between products.

Well, the workaround I mention is just reassigning kit pieces within EZD2. If the beat is using a ride or crash and you want it to be on the hi-hat just go into edit mode and move stuff around.
