Convolution Engine - 64 bit

Converting over to 64 bit OS and DAW. I contacted ALTIVERB and they told me that their software won't run in 64 bit nor under any bit bridge that they know of and that a future version would be 64 bit but with no time line.

I was wondering if there exists another convolution engine where I could use my IRs and be able to run in native 64 bit?

Thanks in advance,

    CJ...

This comes with SONAR and is 64bit?  Hmmm... what do you know. I will check it out.

Yep, it's by Aleksey Vaneev of Voxengo fame, and is based on Pristine Space, so obviously the coding is top notch.

Do I have to manually go into PerfectSpace to change the buffer size or does it change with the project?

Has to be done within Perfect Space.

Click the "info" button at the top and then click the "set latency" button in the middle.

You might need to remove it and re-insert it again for the latency settings to be initialised.

    Elffin,

I read the 8.5 PDF manual and it states that Perfect Space is 32 bit only.  Not a big deal in that it should work within a bridge (bit or J), no?

Someone mentioned that SIR2 is 64 bit now. Anybody have experience with this product?

    Thanks,

Two working native x64 convolutions engines are:

    Reverberate
Combine this with Acoustica's excellent free Bricasti M7 impulses and you have a true stereo reverb engine with modulation

    Nebula 3
Nebula is far more than just a convolution engine, and the learning curve is steep, so it might not be suitable.

    Back to your main question..

ALTIVERB should work with the new jBridge version so, YES, you can use it in the x64bit version if it works with jBridge.

SIR2-IR Con. is in natvie 64bit already.

    Hi,

just chiming in here.....I can confirm, that Altiverb 6.3.5 runs in Sonar x64 (8.5) via Bitbridge....I think it is the only 64 bit DAW that can do this :-)

    cheers

    Jochen

    Jochen....

Great news!!!!!! Thanks for the update. Just another question:  I know that Sonar 8.5 provides support for jbridge but does jbridge come integrated with Sonar or do I need to purchase a license for jbridge (I know it's only $15 but just curious)?

    Great my friend! =)
Does it work with SONAR bitbridge or just jBridge?
