I'm going to give this a try to see if it may have any features I might find useful. Currently I am using Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio but it's an old version, and the latest version of WavePad for editing various things.

Thanks for posting this for those interested.
Does fall short with processing preview for reasons you mentioned.
Those needing some free recording app could try Audacity as an alternative.

Anyone know the backstory of this product? Is this a reboot of, or have any connection whatsoever, to Cool Edit Pro?
