Copy and Paste stopped working for me in 2016.9
System: Windows 10, Anniversary update When I updated from 2016.8 to 2016.9 copy and paste stopped working. I ended up documenting the issue with a video since I think support thought I was full of $hit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2GqV8xSqnI They suggested I use Copy Special as a work around, which did work. I rolled back to 2016.8 and now it works fine. Anyone else running Windows 10 with Anniversary update have this problem? Thanks...

You didn't have to change anything in the Copy Special dialog to get it to work? Does it fail in other views as well? How about Ctrl+Dragging? Is it only this one track? If so, the easiest way to confirm/resolve the problem might be to strip a copy of the project down to the one non-working track, and share it for others try.

That was a new project I created for the video with just one track. I was working with a client all day using 2016.8 recording, editing, etc... and after he left I updated to 2016.9. I went back in to finish editing and I could not copy and paste anything, midi, audio. Being a software engineer by day we always want to see the issue reproduced so I set out to duplicate the issue with a new project. The video shows the result of the new project. So that was two projects it was not working in. I then rolled back to 2016.8 and everything was fine again.

Given there aren't 100 users saying 'me too', the only explanaiton I can come up with for two projects having the same issue is a corrupted template used as a starting point. Try creating a new project from the Blank or Basic template. BTW, the video linked in this thread shows the paste happening on track 23. It must be your other thread that demoed with only one track. Can you share project somewhere?

I have 15 projects created with Sonar Platinum. I only started using it a few months ago. I did update to 2016.8 Up till 2016.9 that was the only update since I started using Sonar Platinum. I did create one new project with 2016.9 with one midi track and saw that copy and paste did not work, so I immediately rolled back to previous update. I am a software developer by day and when this stuff happens we look at what changed. The only thing that changed was Sonar. I run offline 100% of the time. Could this be a freak thing just on my system, maybe, anything is possible with software. Do you have Windows 10 Anniversary installed? I have issues sometime with VU meters on UAD plug-ins where they stop moving and I have to close the project and re-open to get them to start moving again. I contacted Universal Audio about it and they said lots of people having issues with the Anniversary Update and their plug-ins and said to remove it if possible. https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/212528106-Windows-10-Anniversary-Edition-Compatibility-Info Unfortunately I cannot roll back the Anniversary update, the window for that is ten days once installed. So you think a corrupted template is the cause. I start every project with the BLANK template which gives three buses and two tracks. I then delete the buses except for the master and delete all tracks, that is how I start every project. When do you think the template got corrupted? I can copy and paste in every project without issue running 2016.8 Thanks

I didn't realize SONAR was relatively new to you. Users who have been around for a while can have templates they've been using for years, and sometimes there's an incompatibility of an old template with a newer release or just some corruption that's cropped up as the template is changed and re-saved over time. That was the only explanation I could think of for your unusual experience, but it doesn't seem applicable to your case. I have the Win 10 Anniversary update installed, and have not experienced any problems. I think most issues have been around hardware drivers. Although it's certainly suspicious that rolling back solved your problem, with SONAR being update every month, it's inevitable that an unrelated issue will sometimes coincide with a SONAR update. I've already lost count of the 'Update X broke Y' threads that turned out to have some other cause. I'd still like to get a copy of one of these projects that's not working, and see if the problem reproduces in another environment.

Yes, Sonar Platinum is new to me. Started with Sonar 5, then 7, 8 and 8.5. Been on 8.5 till about three months ago. All those version were on a Windows XP machine which I retired. I should have saved the Sonar Platinum project but I did not. I am still running 2016.8 without issue, except for the occasional crash when exiting Sonar but that I can deal with. I saw there is a new update 2016.10, I guess I can try that update and see what happens. If I have the issue in 2016.10 I will save the project for you before rolling back to 2016.8 The frustrating part for me is my Win XP machine ran flawlessly since 2009. In fact the last time it was connected to the internet was 2010. I record three CD's with that machine and countless other projects with never a worry. It was isolated as far as upgrading but also extremely stable. Thanks
