Copying Automation From One Project To Another

Hello,

I have some NRPN automations in a softsynth track that I would like to simply copy from one project to another, but when I copy and paste into the new project, the automation lanes for the synth parameters go away and they seem ghosted.  Only one that comes over is the basic "volume" one which is not tied to the softsynth, but the track.

Here is a photo from the original file, you can see the Z3ta+2 automation lanes:

and this is what it looks like after i copy it into the new file  (all the Z3TA+2 automation is greyed out and not in automation tracks and they do nothing to the synth

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure why you're seeing that. It should work as expected. What happens when you shift click on the ghosted automation lines?

Just spotted another thing. In the screenshots the volume automation envelopes are different. Are you sure that you're copying from another Zeta track?

You would get what you are seeing if he source track isn't compatible with the target. In that case the automation becomes orphaned and would need to be reassigned.

I reckon you could be right Karl.

I'd start by making sure the synth & patch data in the source & destination tracks is identical - then manually create the envelopes you want so they all have their own take lanes, THEN do your copy & paste. Do them one at a time and make sure the correct lane in the destination projects has the focus
