Copying Track Configs from Template to a Work?

Been doing lots of recording over months and just got a new drummer. Mic'd the kit last night and spent a bunch of time today with the drummer dialing it in and capturing all of that work to a template.

Now it's time to take those 7 track configurations (EQ, Compression, etc...) and copy them from the template into existing songs so that he can add drum tracks. Don't want wave data - just everything else. You know, like cloning to a different file.

Sounds simple enough, but apparently I'm not getting it.

Your suggestions are, as always, both appreciated and enjoyed.

Much thanks -

Kind of painless, highlight the target tracks and then select Save as Track Template, from one of the track's context menu, or File/Export. Don't worry about busses involved, they come along for the ride: the busses that the track sends and track outputs point to are saved with the Track Template.

In the new project just select "Insert from Track Template" and the Tracks and Busses are loaded along with their effects and settings.

YES! That's awesome. Exactly what I needed.

    Many, many thanks.

I'm trying to do something similar, but with a new wrinkle:

Recorded my big band at a professional studio.  The space was great, but I didn't like where the mix/edit was going so I walked out with the hard disks and have everything in Sonar.  Since all songs that pass the test will be a part of the same release, I want consistency across all songs.  But there are about 40 tracks per song and setting up each channel's pan, bussing, effects, EQ, etc is very tedious.

So, how does one import the track settings from a saved template derived from one song to another song that's already been recorded?

    Can this be done?
