Corsair support

Just wondering what the consensus on corsairs support was.
I am at the end of my tether with them as it seems they are deliberately ignoring me.
Back in August I returned a pack of 3 sticks of RAM, one of which was faulty. They knew before hand what RAM it was so I was quite disappointed when they wrote to me saying that they didn't have any of that particular RAM in stock.

Given that they knew what RAM it was before they asked me to return it, why couldn't they have checked first?
Then I wouldn't have had to return it and wouldn't have spent the last 5 or 6 weeks running my DAW on half the RAM.

So, they offered me the choice of a refund which they claimed would be £29, minus a 10% usage fee deducted from the refund for each year so in effect I would get a refund of £14 since I bought it in 2010 so I said no thanks to the refund.

The cheapest I have seen a new set here in the UK is between £54 & £78 so I asked if they could just return the RAM and forgo the refund. They agreed and on the 7th of September said they would send it back to me.
A week went by and nothing in the post and no email saying my RAM had been dispatched, so I email them to let them know that I hadn't received it and to ask if it had even been dispatched.

Nothing, no reply (previously replies took 3 or 4 days) I have emailed them 4 times since and have had no reply and will probably have to buy some 2nd hand RAM on eBay.

Corsair don't seem to have a UK phone number or a complaints procedure so I really don't know what to do but running my DAW on 6gb of RAM is horrible.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I think I'm going to have to buy a pack 3 "used" sticks on ebay for around £34 but I'm disgusted with corsair as essentially they have stolen the RAM that I returned in good faith and if there was a way I could legally force them to pay my costs then I'd jump at it.

Anyway, just wondering if others on here have had good or bad response from corsair.

End of rant

Cheers

Steve

I'm using Corsair RAM.  Fortunately I haven't had to use their warranty service.  But 2010 RAM may not be covered under warranty so anyything they do is a plus.

However, I've had a couple of problems with GSkill memory.  They have replaced one under warranty (the other two failed past warranty and I didn't seek any replacement from GSkill).  My problems with GSkill is why I'm using Corsair on my latest build.

Hi

2010 was covered by their, "lifetime warranty" which is why they asked me to return the RAM.

They're a massive company with a good reputation and but I have been forced to buy some more RAM at £38 from ebay which should arrive tomorrow because my DAW can't cope with just 6GB of RAM.
I feel that corsair should pay the £38 because they have abandoned my case and in effect, stolen my RAM by not returning what was mine and not theirs to keep.

I doubt that I have a cat in hells chance of getting them to cough up what they owe me but I'm going to write to their press office and tell them I will be forced to pursue legal action if they do not swiftly resolve the issue. that should hopefully will stir them into action.

It sucks but I would just ask them again to return the RAM. Legal action over £38? Just not gonna happen and they know it.

Yeah that did cross my mind.

It will have been 6 weeks tomorrow since they confirmed they would return my RAM, I may wait another week or so before contacting them again. Will have to fill in a new support ticket I guess.

Cheers

Give them bad reviews on places like newegg.  They tend to pay attention after that.
