Could someone please try this...

If you are running 4.0.3. Create an audio track. Do not change its properties other than setting the input and output. Record a guitar or some mono instruments for a few measures. Then select a portion of it and click on the punch-in button. Leave it SOundonSound. Now rewind and record the punch in. Solo the track. Is the punched in part louder than the rest?

Thanks,

It only seems to happen on some projects. It seems that the volume difference is exactly 3db... I need to go back to 4.0.2 again and see what happens there with these projects.

I do think it's related to either the PAN law or the mono/stereo track as Ron mentioned in a previous post. I just don't understand how to fix it and/or why it is happening.
