Countdown (M)arch release

Well.....I guess countdown will soon start for the March release. If we start counting 10 days down they (CW) will make it in time...
or will they drop the pre-release on 28.03 and then slip the actual release a week later in April?

Sorry: being cynical. I love Sonar but I'm generally not in favor of monthly releases, and as there are so many threads and opinions about it being great I just can't help but wonder why the releases (always) come towards the end of the month. Sure releases are always approx. a month apart.... I'm just imagining my boss saying that when I tell him my paycheck is overdue. To me it just seems strange to have such a 'tight' schedule and at the same time be very 'loose' about it.
I guess that's why they chose names instead of month-nrs for the releases. Looking forward nonetheless!

Lol.....yeah can understand that. You most likely have been working with the March (beta) release since January, but with all the posting and advice-giving here on the Forum the e-zine just won't get finished. Oh well.... how about an early-access-ezine. 😄

I will be very anxious for the monthly releases until we get the revised mastering plugs and the skins feature. Those are the 2 items that I really need. Improved help, and feedback portals, meh. We have the forums for that. Since they have announced a Spring release then we have to wait until June 21st to see.

It can't be finished until it's ALL finished. Doesn't matter when most of it is done if there's one element that hasn't been completed. The "supplementary" articles on tips, Anatomy of a SONAR Project, etc. are done well in advance of the publication date.

Unfortunately, the only thing mentioned as an add for 2016 so far that I'm looking forward to is the feedback/voting feature. Hopefully that will help the bakers get a clearer idea what the users want the most that could be enhanced. Last year I thought the bakers were spot on and delivered cool adds month after month. This year, so far anyway, haven't seen a single new thing that actually interests me personally.

That's why I'm eager for the feature request voting. Our feature requests from the forum aren't really bubbling through that much yet.

But, not wanting to come across as too critical, I'm still so satisfied by the adds from 2015 updates that I'm happily waiting for the next cool add to come along in these monthly updates. Just don't see anything as mentioned by the bakers for the spring stuff that has anything that perks my interest.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Well, there's something they haven't announced for the March release but I'm pretty sure it will perk your interest...and if not yours, it's certainly something a lot of people have wanted. I've been experimenting with it and it's quite cool. I'm sure that as soon as the release hits, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about

But also remember that they're not going to pre-announce anything that might hurt their competitive position, especially if it's several months out.

Well now everyone will think it's the feature THEY asked for, and they'll be bummed when it isn't.  Here's a hint: it's something Noel said might be implemented someday in response to people asking about it in the forums.

He Craig, I was just joking around a bit. I never take myself too seriously ☺
Like Lawajava said: 2015 has added enough great things to keep me going.

I wish CW hadnt put themselves in the position they are in now (promised monthly updates) in the first place: hints given and everyone is eager for 'their' feature to come and at the same time all others are 'disappointed' that theirs isn't.

Anyways, to do a guess:
Melodyne tempomap integration or whatever it's called..

Ps: couldn't we get some sort of betting office opened just for taking bets on CW'S new releases.
- when they'll be released
- what features will be in
- how many new bugs will be introduced
-.....
Maybe a lucky few of us could make some extra money that way 😉

Sadly the hovercraft remains a failure. The spec states that it must be able to hover at least ten feet above the ground, but the anti-gravity engine still can't do more than six feet. So no, the big feature for March is not the hovercraft.

So it is Talent Button Must be, since coffee cup was in February (according to Mitch_I), and Hovercraft is not ready yet. Getting any closer? Or is there another surprize?
