Count-in for playback

I understand using the metronome count-in feature for recording.
 
What I don't see is how to have a count-in for playback. (a one, a two, a one two three four)
 
I want to play along with recorded sections anywhere within a piece.

    I don't think there is anything like what you want.
     
    When I record there is always an oral count in on all recordings.

    Count-in before Playback is not currently possible. A workaround would be to arm a dummy audio or MIDI track for recording, and rehearse during recording instead of playback.

    There is a check box to have the metronome play for playback, but am away from my computer to see if it has a lead-in or not. I think metronome options are in the project-specific options in Preferences.

    +1 to Brundlefly. Another option is to simply begin playback a couple bars before where you want to start.

    Just insert and record arm a midi track with nothing routed to it and press record wherever you want to play along from with a count in enabled.
     
    EDIT: I now see that brundlefly already suggested the same.
