Loose, raw, unrefined and catchy. That drum track kills me. This is one wacky tune – there’s plenty humor in there, but it is clearly not a “novelty” song. Good lyrics, twangy vocal and a strong country vibe. The mix sounded a bit weird to me – echoy (spelling?), strange balance and a “from some other world” kind of sound (could just be my ancient ears)  – but once I locked into the tune, it felt just fine. I felt like I was listening to a good , bizarre live band somewhere off the beaten path (far off) – good stuff. Love the little chord variation on the last line. I’ve had several listens. It makes me want to have a beer. I think I will.

    Love that intro...

The bass a little boomy in spots on my speakers, but this is a honky tonk tune.  Infectious beat.

Maybe roll off the low end on the master EQ this will shine.  Good tune.

Is the guitar slightly out of tune?  If it is so, this is a great idea!  Not much of the low end in this mix.  Great singing and you sound really into it.

One of the first moves is to get your studio into a sound treated room. ;>)

Seriously, when I did a major stuido foam treatment on my room, everything I record with a mic now is VERY MUCH improved.  That would help with some of the cleaning up of the mix.

    Love the honky tonk!

Well, Rod never takes too long to tune his guitar so chances are it probably is a little out of tune. I wanted this song to sound like a throwback to the early studios, unrefined and relying  the singer, the enthusiasm and it's originality...in short we had a blast doing this and spent ALOT of time to get it to where it is focusing on what we had and not what we didn't.  Rod want's to use your comments on the posters for the 3 song CD we are going to sell for 5 bucks so ALL your comments are GREATLY appreciated! p.s. I found a new mike cover:

Yeah it's a little out, but it kinda fits the song. The song feels like a parody :-) Country music will never be "like it used to be..."

George Jones was one of my favorites from back in the day. He stopped loving her today, they placed a wreath upon his door... And soon they'll carry him away, he stopped loving her "today..." And Conway? "Hello darlin?" Classic country...

And tell the drummer to give that crash a rest? He's beating the hell out of that poor thing! LOL!

My mental image if the crash while playing it was a whip to accentuate parts of the vocals, I couldn't stop hitting it... :)

by the way, when you load the bundle it says alot of effects haven't loaded, those have all been disabled, I just didn't take the time to delete them.  This is an X1a 64bit excusive song, it should work perfectly for you.

Love the song. I'm a huge fan of 40's ~ 70's country. I turned my radio off in 1975.

The only thing that stands out to me is one of the guitars seems out of tune? Or it may be heavy chorusing? Reminds me of bees buzzing. Unfortunately I have perfect pitch and things like that really pop out at me.

    Great song.
