Couple of quirks; was wondering if anyone else had these issues...
I upgraded from X3 to platinum 6 months ago, and noticed a quirk that drives me absolutely insane. When in playback, parameter adjustments on the track itself (volume, gain, pan, etc) are incredibly hard to control, as they move ridiculously quickly/in large increments. This is maddening to me, as often I am making adjustments of 1%, 3 dB, etc.....very small, incremental, subtle adjustments. This is NOT an issue when *not* in playback; e.g., when the audio engine is stopped. This was also not an issue on the same machines/OS in X3. I am also noticing that on the original, native Cakewalk plugins, small adjustments are nearly impossible. For example, the Cakewalk compressor/gate....the parameter adjustments are not smooth, no matter how minute my movements are. On the gate threshold, for example, I have a choice of either -6.02 or -INF.....occasionally, I can get it to set at like -46 after about 5 minutes of trying, but I cannot for the life of me get parameters to adjust incrementally beyond that, if that makes sense. There are a few plugins like that. Lastly, I just reinstalled Sonar Platinum on a new machine, and I noticed a lot of the Cakewalk and in particular, Sonitus effects (like the reverb) are now missing all their presets. Yes, I understand most factory presets are ridiculous, but many of them are useful platforms to adjust from, and it's time-saving to have them on hand. Any idea what's missing or why they aren't showing up? Thanks in advance y'all.

Hi. Have you tried to hold Shift down while dragging? All the best. Edit: Regarding the first issue

Axl, on the Sonitus preset issue........ The latest versions have a preset button on the right side of the GUI. It's a gray button about an inch down from the top of the window. It's labeled "Presets". It's not in the main dropdown window anymore. The presets are all there, just in a different spot. Hope this helps. ~Jeff

May I suggest that it is likely a conflict between your mouse and your audio interface. Try moving your mouse to a different USB port, preferably one you know is on a separate I/O bus. If that doesn't help, try a different mouse. Regards, Dan

Sometimes the Windows setting for font scaling ("make text and other items larger or smaller") makes certain controls work badly. If that's your problem, make sure you don't have it set for something larger than 125%.

Zargg71 Hi. Have you tried to hold Shift down while dragging? All the best. Edit: Regarding the first issue
This actually solved the issue of adjusting the tracks' (and some plugins') parameters. Huh. Thanks! Jeff: This I did not know, lol. I'll take a look here in a few when I boot up Sonar. I just about had a panic attack when I clicked the main/original preset dropdown and there were no presets, lol. Thanks! bvideo and Dan: I will check those if I have any further issues. Thanks!

Yeah - Shift+Drag helps for finer amounts of movement for knobs and faders and whatevers. Oh, and if you maybe haven't run across this other helpful technique - to get a knob or fader set back to zero/neutral, double-click on it. That's WAY easier than trying to coax it into moving some tiny tiny increment by dragging, even with the Shift key. I was SOOOO happy once I realized it was there. Bob Bone

Yea, I came across that quite some time ago; definitely makes things waaay easier to zero out. I'm still having some issues with some of the old native Cakewalk plugins; shift+drag helps a little bit but doesn't completely solve the issue. Other than that, yea, we're good. Also, Jeff: You're a lifesaver; presets are there as you stated. :)
