Cover of Shadows of the night, sort of

My niece was singing this song when I was visiting in Kentucky. When she came up to Massachusetts, she sang Cups and I sprang this on her. I should have studied the song a bit more and had her sing the harmonies as well. but I just gave her voice more space and it turned out pretty good. It's faster than the original but closer to it than Ashley Tisdales version. I never knew there was a remake of this song and Jailene learned the faster version.
I played the guitars and bass. I had to rewrite the keyboard part as it was all over the place and rewrite the drums as they weren't working.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I put my own spin on the leads.

    yeah i love this tune!!!  I always enjoy when someone covers a tune and highlights different aspects that weren't in original -  keyboards give a great pop flavor to overall feel of track.  Your niece has got a great voice I'm sure she is going places w/ it- most def :)

    I totally like this version.  It's cool when someone takes a classic song and makes it their own, as you've done with this.  The guitar work and vocal is top notch.  I'd love to hear more from you two.

    Thanks guys! I would love to work with her some more and work on original stuff. More of the pop country feel as here voice tends to favor that. Only problem is she lives in Kentucky and I'm here in Massachusetts. If you've ever been to Kentucky, all they have is corn fields, churches and no internet. Well, barely any internet.

    I love female vocals!  How old is she?  Oops, she might not like you telling that to us!  You did a nice job putting it together.  Not one of my favorite songs (the original) but I did enjoy listening to you and her doing it.

    Thanks Warren! She just turned 18. We found out that American Idol tryouts were at Guillette Stadium the day after she went back to Kentucky. We were kicking ourselves for not realizing that. Her mom has an excellent voice as well.
