Cover of Themes from The Killing Fields

Hi,

I don't normally record cover versions but there's a Mike Oldfield tribute album being created by fans at http://tubular.net and they're short of a couple of tracks for the 'cover versions' section of the tribute.

So, I decided to piece together a solo piano version of some of the developing themes from the soundtrack to The Killing Fields - specifically the themes related to those of the joint main character Pran.

Anyway, here's my version: http://soundcloud.com/purplerhapsody/pran

Please remember that the beautiful, emotional music was written by Mike Oldfield, I've just had the cheek to rearrange it for solo piano.

Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers,
Terry.

You've definitely captured the emotion in those themes and done them more than justice.  Just gorgeous.  I can't imagine how this could be any better.  :)

Hi Terry, this is great playing, like it very much. Nice variations on the theme. I personally would love it if you would expand on the  section from 1:51 to 1:58, those lovely bass notes are cut short a bit by the recurrence of the theme.

    Greetings , Rik

Thanks very much for listening and for the compliments!

The good news is that it appears to have been accepted for the compilation - bad news is that means I won't be expanding the section from 1:51 to 1:58... sorry Rik!

    Thanks again!

    Terry.
