Cowboy ****-A song a bout a dealer who was a friend!!!!

Good morning campers, time for a new tune, this time it's another oldie but a goldie called Cowboy ****, http://soundcloud.com/aaudiomystiks/cowboy  I wrote this in 2000.  I was obsesed with a Marc Bolan song called Life's an Elevator, I just loved Em to Em6 so I decided to turn those two chords into a song.  It was a ****y song about somebody who really wasn't my friend, I mean really who's dealer really is your friend.  I was singing the line "cowboy" when another friend interjected with line ****.

Enjoy Ben

Ok Starise, you are going to love this because you can't use the word **** even in the link, I am changing the name in the link, as we speak!!!!

Hey Ben,maybe you have permissions turned off. I can't get to the song. I get a screen that tells me the song can't be accessed. I would love to hear it though.

I am no expert mixologist. I just listen and if I think I know something I might  comment on what could be done.

Those Em chords  line up with the melacholy feel you would have regarding the subject.Plenty loud enough here on my cans.

The guitar came across well in the mix as did your vocals.

Thanks Starrise, yes I should be able to mix by now after 10 years and two degrees.  This though, the song, is the point I really got it and this was only two or three weeks ago.  I realized I had been making a few mistakes when it came to EQing.  On this track, on the guitar and the vocal I enhanced the upper harmonics on both instruments, I have also started to employ the less is more approach which I continued with the next track I finished, which was Now and Then http://soundcloud.com/aaudiomystiks/nowandthen I used very little in the way of corrective EQ on any of the instruments, all of the EQ was about enhanceing the upperharmonics and removing the sub frequencies if needed, I knew all of this before but somtimes you just don't put it all together.

But thanks for listening, I hope i didn't sound to conceited, that was not my intent.

    Peace Ben
