Crackling and MIDI problem with Sonar LE 8.5

I get huge crakling on playback, though it is not there on the mix down and my e-drums do not play the drum sounds from the Sonar LE 8.5 tracks unless I turn the Roland Percussion Sound Module TD-10 off and back on while the MIDI track is playing.  I was able to fix it once but failed to save it and can't find the fix again.  Please advise.
Thanks,
JonPaul

Hard to say anything about the crackling as you don't give any system specs. Most likely bad soundcard drivers or unsuitable buffer/latency setting..

    E-drums I know nothing about..

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
