Crackling noise in Sonar X2a

Hi,
 
I am experiencing some crackling noises in some projects. Very random and annoying. They are not present when I export to audio.
I was trying to identify a specific plugin that could cause it.
What I found is that if I disable the uad-2 plugins on the uad meter, the crackling noise STOPS.
 
Since I have updated to the latest had version about 2 weeks ago, I wonder if there are any known issues with this version and sonar x2a. Or do I need to look into other things (conflicts, video card, etc).
 
I haven't had any issues for a long time so this has been terrible I have these clients in the middle of a huge project.

I will try increasing the latency a bit. 
But should't I do that just in case my CPU cores are hitting the top?
 
In this particular project, the had-2 meter is at around 40% and my cpu cores and about 20%.
 
I used to have this noises with the uad meter hitting the top, like over 90%. But this is not the case.
 
Any other ideas?

You may have to increase your latency a tad, to get rid of those crackles.
 
Sounds like possibly those plugins are either CPU-intensive or may be meant for mixing and mastering, rather than tracking/recording.
 
Can you possibly swap those 2 out during any recording?  Then you could put them back in when you move to mixing/mastering.

It helped me.  I have to use a playback latency of 1024, and no issues beyond that.

Hi,Respectfully, I think you need to re-read your quoted comments above.  They do suggest an obvious strategy (since you are apparently running a commercial studio):
 
- If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
 
- If you absolutely feel the need to update parts of your system, then invest in a backup imaging program like Acronis True Image, Paragon Backup and others.  Just run a backup of your system drive regularly (say, once a month), and also just before you do an update.  Then, whenever you experience a software-related problem, all you have to do is restore (go back) to the last backup.  This always ensures that you have a "safety net".
 
For your current problem - since you say it was running fine before - I would suggest uninstalling the (UAD) update that changed things for the worse and go back to the previous version.  In the meantime, you may want to download the free version of Paragon backup and test it out.  You'll need a separate partition (from the C: partition) and preferably on a separate drive to backup to.   Good luck!
