Just out of curiosity, are you referring to the CA-X amps or the Anderton Collection FX?

Look in the browser, under "Plugins/AudioFX/FX Chain/Anderson Collection".

The guitar amps are "Plugins/AudioFX/FX Chain/CA-X Amps Collection.

They are AUDIO FX not Instruments. You will find them in the BROWSER section over right ( top - ish :D ).

Then click plugins tab and AUDIO FX Button. At the end is FX CHAIN Folder. Anderton Collection etc there.

You can drag / drop these per track into a tracks FX section to apply ..

( UPPS - just spotted JB said same thing :D )

I tried some of these yesterday.  Some of the reverb and delays are OK.  One I tried was labeled "clean" (don't recall which one it was) but it had distortion (or maybe a fuzz tone) on it?

EDIT:  It was the "Clean and Sweet" that had distortion on it.  I would have expected it to be "clean"??

That's not one of mine. My FX Chains are the ones under "Anderton Collection" and the "semi-FX Chains" are under "CA-X Amps."

I was checking out those amps yesterday. Seems like a good variety to me. I'm wondering where Craig himself recommends placing these effects. I've been placing them at the top of the PC. It should also be noted that the other Anderton fx chains can be placed in the ProChannel which gives some choice knobs to play with.

Think of it like the studio. You might place a limiter afterward, or disable the reverb in the amp and use a different reverb afterward. But they were designed to be pretty complete. Usually the amp is all I have in a channel.

Was curious about the Anderton fx and can't really find any good info on the cakewalk site... My go to plug-in for chorus, delay, flange, phase, tremolo etc has been Pod Farm 2 but apparently it cant be automated in X3. Thinking about upgrading any way but curious if there are stomp box style fx in the Anderton stuff?

    I really like the VoxTools.
What I don't understand is how they are constructed. To my understanding the other FX chain presets are just an interface that combines different plugins and puts their most important knobs upfront.

The VoxTools look different. I can't see what plugins are working under the hood. It looks like a thing of its own.
Is it like this? Or don't I see what is behind?

The reason for asking is that I like the Megaphone effect and wanted to know what plugin that really is (if so) and if it is possible to load that plugin alone or make other tweaks with it.

DAW : SONAR Professional Kingston, 64bit
    PC : i5 - 4570, 3,2GHz, LGA1150, Quad-Core
    RAM : 8 GB (2x4) Kingston 1333 Mhz
    OS : Win 10, 64bit

You can get the megaphone/telephone "sound" out of any eq with extreme HPF & LPF. Many EQs or Vocal Strips come with a "telephone" preset that will get you going.

Craig leaves us visibility into his FX chains unless it would prevent him from sharing the function due to intellectual property constraints. That is my understanding.

The one I use must is the vocal one with the plosive control dial.

I split the clip around the bad sound and drag the chain to the clip. I fade the clip edges before and after sharply.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Well, I not only like this one. The Doubled Mix is also cool.

I am not sure if I fully understand. You mean that the VoxTools have a GUI that doesn't reveal how it works because of intellectual property constraints?

For me all the Craig Anderton FX Chain Presets are one better than the other. Mostly they offer many times the very wonderful solutions on mixing instruments, expecially electric guitars and some acoustic too. Very good job Craig.
