Crash reporter lies about you being able to see your report

I try bouncing freezing a synth, Sonar crashes. No surprise. I click to submit a report. It says the report was successful (now that IS a surprise). It also says I can click to see the status of my report. No, I can't. It doesn't appear in the list at https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Contact/My-Problem-Reports . I then get an email with the same thing, click the link, nope, can't see the problem I just reported. The direct link to the report (number 48946)  just redirects back to the list above, which doesn't contain it. So, who knows if it was really submitted or not.

Not that I expect much from this system given that the bug I manually reported over 2 months ago is still marked as "not yet been reviewed by Cakewalk". Not just "not fixed", but the implication is that nobody has even looked at it. Weak.

Your main problem is why Sonar should crash by performing a simple bounce.

Saying "no surprise" is a bit disingenuous - I've been bouncing synths for years without issue.

    What's your workflow regarding bouncing?

There may be a delay between submission and it appearing (not sure?). They should appear as "New Report from Crash Reporter" when clicking that link.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

I misspoke - I was actually freezing a synth, rather than bouncing one. Whether that's the same or not sort of depends on your perspective.

I'm not surprised when Sonar crashes. It happens often. Maybe not when freezing a synth before, but it happens.

The link to my report is still dead, by the way.

I had several crashes recently (all from the same problem) and when I tried to reproduce I allowed Sonar to upload the crash dumps (as it was plugs from one vendor causing the same behaviour) - and hence got the same messages with the links, but none of the crashes showed in the problem report list.

Meanwhile, one problem (which was a crash from a different issue which I encountered while trying to reproduce) shows up in the list with status "submitted to development". So someone must have reviewed it.

I think Cakewalk may only just add your crash reports to the problem list once it's been reviewed. It would be just too easy to be a troll and add hundreds of entries to the problem list if there not would be some sort of QC/review process involved before it makes the official problem list.

Are you logged in to command center with an active account? I asked and apparently your report came through as a demo user. If that is the case you will not be able to see the report. Is SONAR fully activated on the system you sent the report from or does it show demo mode? Its also possible that when you submitted the report it was not logged in which could explain why you cant see the report now - it didn't know the user identity.

Command Center shows my account correctly. But it probably comes through as a demo user because my membership expired. I don't launch Sonar via the Command Center, if that makes any difference.

Not sure if I understand since I saw something similar ...

Do we have to have CCC open for uploaded problems to link properly to our account? Doesn't really make sense, does it?

I'm fully current membershipwise and Sonar is activated, but only one of the recent auto-reported problems shows in my account.

I experienced the same problem last week.  Sonar Platinum kept crashing due to a specific plugin issue.  And twice I submitted my report (with comments) and had the same experience as the OP.  When I clicked on the link that said "see your report here", it took me to a page that said "you don't have any active reports" (or something like that)

It's been suggested that someone has to manually enter these reports into the system before they show up on that page.  So if that's the case, why not change the message of either the "see your report here" or the " you don't have any active reports", to something more accurate like, "Your report is pending, when it has been reviewed you will be able to see it on this page".   Otherwise people are following the link, hoping to see the report they just submitted only to see NO report and wonder if it was submitted at all.
And no, I am not running my version of Sonar in demo mode.  It's fully registered.

4 months on, and still the case that expired users - or at least this expired user - can't view the problem reports they submit.

"You can track your report on our website here: https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Contact/Problem-Report-Status/53902"

    No, I cannot.

     (Also, https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Contact/Problem-Report-Status/54064 . It crashes a lot.)

Have you tried logging into the Cakewalk Web site first  (with the same credentials you use in CCC) and then clicking on that link?

If I do so, I land up on a page listing my problem reports.

The reports above do not appear in my problem reports list. According to Noel's explanation above, expired users seem to count as demo users, so those reports get orphaned. And apparently nobody is interested in fixing that because crash reports from people who aren't still paying them don't seem important.

As a matter of interest, if you use the Cakewalk Problem Report Form to add a report while you are logged in, does it show up in your list?
