Crashes when closing SPLAT

Lately, I've been getting lots of crashes when I close the program (and some other random ones too.) It seems like every other time I close Sonar it crashes and the fault reporter comes up and asks me to send a report about the crash. It's not really that big a problem for me since usually when I'm closing the program I've already saved my work. Anyone else getting this?

Does it happen when you close Sonar while a project with any particular plugin is open?

I find this happens with the VST3 version of Meldaproduction's Mpowersynth.  Not with the VST2 version, however.

    Windows 10 64bit fully patched, 16 gig ram .
    PCR-800 Controller.  (Working in Win 10 1809 64bit)
    CPU: i5 4670.
    Video: Nvidia GTX560ti (latest drivers).
Audio IF: Focusrite 2i2 2nd Gen

    Internet always on.

    Software
    : Cakewalk by Bandlab (2018.09 B29)
    ASIO mode. 24bit 48khz 256 samples
    Rapture Pro, AAS GS2, VS-3, EP-4, VA-2, Chromophone 2, Z3TA+ 2, Addictive drums 2, Addictive Keys, Mpowersynth (latest), Iris 2, GPO5, Sampletank 3,

When Sonar crashes, have a look at the details of the crash message by Windows. It lists several cryptic data like memory addresses, but also the module responsible for the crash. This module is either "SONARPLT.EXE", or the DLL name of the VST plugin that causes crashes.

I have rarely crashes when closing projects (with or without closing Sonar) for projects that use AmpliTube. On other systems, this problem may occur more often.

We have the same problem on one of our laptops.
We have this laptop three times and I can definitely say that this is up to the audiointerface. As soon as I change the interface (M-Audio Fast Track Ultra-8-R) to an Roland Quad Capture the problem is gone. Maybe up to the audiodriver.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.
    4 x Intel Quad-CPU, 4GHz Sonar Platinum (Windows 10 - 64Bit) and 14 computers for recording tapes, vinyl ...

    4 x RME Fireface 800, 2 x Roland Octa Capture and 4 x Roland Quad Capture, Focusrite .... Studer A80, RP99, EMT948 ...

I have the same problem again, I am working on 2 songs at the moment and both crash.  I think I close the project window then hit the full screen button to see the close Sonar window button then it crashes.

I am using Amplitube a lot so maybe that's the problem. I'll have to wait and see what is causing the crash the next time it happens.

Yes! I've been getting this a lot lately. No rhyme or reason at all.

Same here w/ normal use, no new plugins or settings.
No rhyme or reason, lately it crashes several times a day, every day.

Happened to me a lot when first installed (2016.12) seemed to be BFD3 related at first, as that seemed to be the common denominator, then it stopped doing it, then freezing AAS synths before closing seemed to do it, then it was ok again .....lately it's started doing it again every time I use the synthmaster 2.8 demo that I have been trying out.

For me, exit crashes have been cause by specific plugins in a project.

A few times it's been VST3 versions and when I replace them with VST2 versions, the crashes have disappeared.

Ralf - thanks for the tip about analyzing crash logs! :D
