Creating a Barri Sax part with a tenor sax

I have been working on a funk tune that is going to rely heavily on horns. I play sop, alto and tenor saxes but do not have a barri.

After recording several of the real sax tracks and a few trumpet and trombone tracks using DimPro I found I really wanted to add a Barri and some better trumpet and trombone as well. I am still vasilating on the Trumpet and trombone purchase but then it dawned on me to use V-Vocal to make a barri track.

So I cloned the 2nd tenor part and then increased the gain by normalizing so v-vocal would work better on the note releases.

Then created the v-vocal clip and selected all and dragged down an octave.

I set the formant controls to follow 0 and manual adjust -26.

Then I changed a few notes in the phrases manually to create a new barri part for my section.

I was quite surprised in how well it does when played with the section. soloed its not perfect but still much better than most barri sound fonts I have found out there. I will try to post a sample later today.

Here is the link I promised. The mix is still pretty rough and I have the barri hot so it can be heard.

Awesome. Nice work, the baritone part is completely believable in the mix. V-vocal is such an under-rated tool.
