Creating an instrument track from a template

Hello,

I purchased Sonar X2 this weekend and have been very impressed with the changes. I was an avid user for years but have been away since Sonar 4 and I'm stunned. The new UI and the shortcuts have made a world of difference.

I was trying to take advantage of the shortcuts by building a track template for an instrument track in one project to reuse in another, but whenever I create the track from the template it seems that the VST is not connected properly. The VST is in the synth rack, but the blue area around the name isn't lit up like the others.

Can anyone please let me know what I'm doing wrong? This feature is too good to pass on, so any help would be appreciated.

Ok... it turns out that I created a track template from an instrument track that was frozen. The newly created track from that template isn't frozen, but it isn't "not frozen", either. The track is dysfunctional. When I re-created the track templates with unfrozen instruments everything worked fine.
