Creative Hard Drive 101

Just thought it was worth a mention.
I have my OS and pgms on an SSD. I kept the old 3.5 1tb 7200 rpm drive and reformatted. I had a 1tb 7200 2.5 drive, so I bought an adapter that holds 2 2.5 drives in a 3.5 bay and installed the 2 2.5 inch drives.  I also have a USB 3 2.5" external case that I put a 750gb drive from my burnt out laptop in for a portable solution. Finally, a 32 and a 64 gb thumbdrive.

So that seems like a cool dealio to me. No slow drives, and a ton of space, and I spet less than $20 to make use of the perfectly good 2.5 in drives I had laying around. I even have a 450 but it is 5400 rpm so still sitting in a drawer.

I never erase them, I just shelve them or put them in enclosers and keep them as back ups.
In other words I buy a new disk , and dump the old disk's content to the new disk. I do a little house keeping at this time. I then put it aside. I actually spun one up the other day and found a whole folder I'd forgotten about that had some important files in it.
