Hey Steve - looks like the County Championship is going to be a close finish.

Somerest have given up on their run chase, settling for a draw, and Notts need to take 3 wickets in 16 overs against Lancs, on a batting wicket @ Old Trafford to get the 1 bonus bowling point they need.

Hope you understood all that quantumeffect - we'll be testing later on!!

I think I've got it.  Somerest has abandoned their weapons development program, settling for building better bunkers, and Notts need to successfully detonate multiple warheads against Lancs @ Old Trafford to elimante this menace from the face of the earth.

There's a chance that I've confused Cricket with Nuclear War.  I do that sometimes.

Come on, cricket is easy. Even a girl can understand it.

You start by going into a bookies and telling them how many no balls your going to get, then you go to this field and throw a hard ball at some guys for a while.  Every now and then some other guy in a coat shouts "No ball" and at the end of the day you add up how many times he shouted it.

If it matches what you told the bookie then you get loads of money.  If it doesn't match, then the Taliban come to your house to confirm the final score and you're left with no balls.

    See,  cricket is easy.

Exactly!   The only thing it has in common with nuclear war is that both are difficult to watch over a 5 day period.

And Notts run out winners, in slightly dubious circumstances.

Notts scored well over 400 on a good wicket, yet managed to get their 3 wickets against Lancs for a cost of 11 runs?

    Fix! Fix! Fix! Fix!
