Crop Overlapping Takes

The documentation says:

"In a multi-lane track, move either the Smart tool  or the Edit tool  between two overlapping clips until the cursor turns into the overlap cropping tool."

In X2 I've never been able to get the overlap cropping tool to appear.  Never had any problem with it in X1.
